We are therefore proud that in 2016 LAURIE was STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified as the first female fashion brand in Denmark.

With this certification, you as a consumer are assured that your LAURIE clothing has been tested free of substances harmful to health, which may be allergy and/or cancer-causing.

Produced in Europe

All LAURIE products are produced by carefully selected suppliers in Europe who meet our high quality standards and requirements for responsible production.

LAURIE is a member of Amfori BSCI and uses their "Code of Conduct" towards manufacturers in the supply chain. Amfori BSCI is an important part of LAURIE's due diligence, as it ensures that our social responsibility meets international standards and national laws. As well as giving us a system to work uniformly with audits/follow-up when we visit our suppliers, which we do several times a year.

Organic Cotton

LAURIE only uses organic cotton.

Organic cotton is grown without the use of harmful pesticides. In fact, as much as 25% of the world's total pesticide consumption comes from conventionally grown cotton. This entails a serious threat to the groundwater which supplies many of the world's poorest producing countries with water.

In addition, it puts rare, natural habitats under pressure. Worldwide, today less than 1% of total cotton production is organic. In order to classify cotton as organic, the following requirements must be met:

- Pesticides, insecticides or defoliants must not be used

- Artificial fertilizers must not be used

- Genetic modification (GMO) must not be used

TENCEL™ Lyocell

At LAURIE, we are crazy about TENCEL™ Lyocell, and therefore, you'll find it in a wide range of our collections. You'll find it because the range of positive properties seems endless! TENCEL™ Lyocell feels smooth and shiny like silk, cool and comfortable like linen, strong like polyester, and it's just as easy to wash as acrylic.

The raw material is Lyocell, which consists of 100% pure cellulose. TENCEL™ Lyocell is a fiber derived from nature but artificially manufactured using modern technology. It is primarily the eucalyptus tree that forms the basis for the fiber production of TENCEL™ Lyocell. The eucalyptus tree is a very fast-growing tree that does not require artificial irrigation and at the same time yields a very high yield. This naturally brings many environmental benefits, and the tree can even be cultivated in areas where it is otherwise difficult to grow anything, and where neither food nor cotton can grow.
